Dear Parents and Students,

It was a pleasure meeting most of you today. I can’t wait to meet everyone else. For those of you who couldn’t make it Friday there is a volunteer sign-up sheet on the door of our room (6). If there are any other jobs you’d like to help with feel free to talk with me individually. I would love to accommodate your needs and I can always use an extra pair of hands for reading aloud to students, prepping, organizing etc. If you did not make it on Friday, please brainstorm three academic goals that you have for your student this year. We will write them down when we meet.

In the meantime, please send your student to school on Monday with a reusable cup or water bottle to keep here in our class room. We will leave them by the sink and I will wash them every Friday. Also, if you have any old towels that you’d like to get rid of we can use them in our classroom for projects, spills and in place of paper towels. Thank you!

I am in the process of finishing the September homework calendar. For the first three days of school your student’s only homework will be their reading log, which must be initialed by you. Starting September 1st, the homework calendar will be sent home and also posted in the window.
